Agree part variants, the process sequence and the upstream and downstream conditions. Avoid a trial based only on an ideal sample.

What to include in an automation acceptance plan
Define success before the cell arrives.
Use representative conditions
Include interruptions
Demonstrate controlled stopping, restart and fault recovery within the approved design. Define the permitted operator actions and training needs.
Make ownership explicit
List the records, access credentials and maintenance information that change hands. Confirm responsibilities for future tooling or process changes.
A simple next step.
Write down the missing information from this guide and assign an owner to each item. Keep the current revision of your brief with the associated drawings and records.
Agree the evidence before the test
Turn the project requirements into an acceptance matrix. Each row should identify the requirement, test conditions, expected result, evidence and responsible reviewer. Use representative parts, tooling and process inputs. A short demonstration under ideal conditions may not answer whether the cell handles the agreed product mix or exception cases. Separate factory acceptance from checks that depend on installation at the customer site. List machine interfaces, utilities, operator training, documentation and recovery procedures alongside normal production tests. Record issues as they occur and agree how corrective work will be verified. Do not close a failed requirement simply because another test passed. The safety assessment and protective-function validation must be completed by qualified parties for the actual installation. Finish with an agreed record of accepted items, open items and restrictions on operation. This makes the handover understandable to both the commercial team and the people running the cell.
